| Moses Tarnopolsky Family Moses Tarnopolsky was the son of Sure and Chiam Tarnopolsky. For more detailed information about Max, please click here. Max immigrated from Russia and arrived at Ellis Island on February 13, 1906 at the age of 21 with his son Israel ( Edward Paul) and his wife Sonya Tarnopolsky on the ship Krooner. His destination was listed to an A. Bermann located on 404 N. 8th Street. Bermann helped Max establish a bicycle repair in the Old City section of the city, which was later moved to Woodland Avenue in Philadelphia. Max's wife was from the Kutlerofsky family whose family members had also started a mass exodus from Russia. Jacob Kutlerofsky, Sarah's father, arrived in the United States in 1909 and stayed with the Paul family at 344 Catherine Street in South Philadelphia. Jacob worked with Max repairing automobile radiators during the early 1910's. Max and Sarah welcomed the birth of Lydia in 1911 and Harry Paul in 1912. They moved to 309 Washington Avenue in 1912 and later in the 1910's to Darby, PA. Max and his family moved again in the 1920's and welcomed the addition of his mother to the family unit in 1924. In the late 20's Max's business, Lincoln Auto Radiator, was reorganizes and became Paul Bros. Auto Body in 1930. Max continued to work with his son's at the newly formed Paul Bros. Auto Body. CHILDREN Married Laura Jacobson and had two children, Shirley Paul and Carol Robbins. Edward was an original Paul Brother, Edward worked in the business until the 1960's until his retirement. He settled in Florida and died there in 1969. Lydia Paul Davis Lydia Paul Davis was born on November 16, 1911. She married Edwin Davis on September 25, 1932 and had two children: Michael Davis and and Kenneth Davis. Etta Paul Schultz Etta married William Schultz. Their children are Maxine and Steven Schultz. Harry Paul Harry Paul was born in 1912 and was the other half of the "Paul Bros.." Harry married Evelyn Adler and had three children with her: Sandra Paul Fogel, Maxwell Paul and Susan Paul Pesin. |
